about
Macon Film Festival (MaGa)
The Macon Film Festival was created to celebrate the art and craft of the moving image, and to introduce independent films that rarely appear in Macon, Georgia.
MaGa is dedicated to entertaining, educating, and inspiring audiences and filmmakers alike by offering innovative and imaginative films both mainstream and independent in nature. We also strive to introduce visiting filmmakers and guests to the Central Georgia community, and to promote film production in the area.
The festival is open to filmmakers working in all media, genres, and themes.
5th Annual Macon Film Festival
MaGa is a unique film festival in that we screen all films in two different historic theaters in beautiful downtown Macon. Screenings are held at The Cox Capitol Theatre and The Douglass Theatre along with events at various downtown locations.
After a successful fourth year in February 2009 the Macon Film Festival is heading into its fifth year with a four day festival scheduled for February 18 - 21. Along with MaGa submissions and various special screenings the 2010 festival will also showcase up and coming Central Georgia student filmmakers with the MaGa Young Adult Film Festival Competition.
